Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Rose Outline.
Step 1
Begin the sketch of the rose by drawing the first rosebud. Start with a spiral line down the center. Then, draw a series of curved lines close to it to form the borders of the petals.
Step 2
Use long, wide curved lines to draw the outer petals of the rose.
Step 3
Continue removing the outer petals using extended curved lines. Extend a couple of lines from the base of the flower and allow them to come together into a sharp point. This indicates the stem of the rose.
Step 4
Start drawing the second flower. Use curved lines to draw the narrow heart shape of the outer petal. It then uses a series of short lines that meet at sharp points to form the sepals, small leaves that sprout from the base of the flower. Then, extend a couple of curved lines to form the stem. Let the ropes meet at the moment in the end.
Step 5
Continue drawing the petals of the second outline of the flower. Use curved lines in a “Y” shape to indicate the areas where the petals overlap.
Step 6
Continue drawing the blooming rose. In the center, draw a line in the shape of a “Y” with a spiral arm. Then, use curved lines to draw the edges of the petals. Draw a long, narrow line between the flowers in the shape of a “V”.
Step 7
Draw a tightly sealed rosebud at the tip of the limb. Use a series of curved bars to create the flower bud. It encloses the triangular sepals at the bottom. Then, connect the flower to the branch using a little half-circle.
Step 8
Draw a circle near the shelter of the third flower. Then draw leaves. It extends long curved lines from the stem. Then, use curved lines to enclose the leaves in a teardrop shape around the leaf veins.
Step 9
Complete your rose sketch by drawing additional leaves. Use curved lines to create the leaf veins and outline the sides of the leaves. The drawing is almost ready.
