Sivaji Ganesan Wiki: Shivaji Ganesan was born on 1 October 1927 in Villupuram to Chinnaiya Manrayar and Rajamani Ammal. His given name is Villupuram Chinnaiyapillai Ganesan.
Shivaji Ganesan ran away from home at the age of nine to fulfill his dream as he was greatly inspired by plays at an early age and was interested in participating in them. Before coming to the screen, Shivaji Ganesan, who acted in plays, became very famous through his play ‘Hindu Rajyam’. Father Periyar praised his acting skills as Emperor Shivaji. He called him ‘Shivaji Ganesan’. It was this event that earned him the nickname ‘Shivaji Ganesan’.
Shivaji Ganesan was very involved in politics and was involved in the Dravidian movement till 1955. In 1961, he joined the Congress party. In 1982, he became a member of the upper house of parliament. Later, due to differences in the party, he left the party in 1987 and started a new party called ‘Tamil Progressive Front’. Despite being a great actor, he did not have as much influence in politics as MG Ramachandran.
