A Deep Dive About Highest Paying Jobs in India!

The world of technology is brimming with opportunities. The onset of game-changing innovations such as data science, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and cybersecurity are opening new avenues every day.

With so much scope and such a wide spectrum of applications, it is easy to get confused while choosing a tech profession. But fret not, you are at the right place.

We will discuss the highest-paying jobs in India’s tech industry in 2023. We will also brief you on what skills you need and how to prepare for them.

We will explore specialisations such as web development course, programming language certifications, the latest tools, and other related topics. Without further ado, let’s begin!

Top 10 Highest-Paying Tech Jobs in India

The tech industry is full of exciting and well-paying jobs exploring a number of different technologies. But your salary can differ based on your location, employer, experience, and technology. Moreover, your pay scale can fluctuate based on the relevance and future prospects of the technology you are working on.

For instance, relatively new technologies such as blockchain have a big chance of becoming relevant in the near future even if their current average salary may be less than other jobs.

Before the list, there are a few honourable mentions which just didn’t cut into the top 10 list. These include DevOps Engineer at 6.5 LPA, Blockchain Engineer at 6.1 LPA, and Full-stack Developer at 5.7  LPA. Do note, that blockchain and DevOps are niche technologies so they can still reap lucrative salaries in the future.

Number 1: AI/ML Architect – 30.5 LPA

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) have the power to reshape the tech industry and humanity as a whole. These technologies have the ability to automate simple and complex tasks at scale.

As an AI/ML architect, you will envision, build, and deploy end-to-end ML and AI projects. You will be guiding data engineers, data scientists, developers, security, and operations personnel during these projects.

You will need to master machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and use sophisticated analytical tools such as R, Python, and SAS.

Number 2: Software Developer – 26.5 LPA

If you can notice, the ‘architect’ jobs in the tech industry are some of the highest-paying jobs. This is primarily because an architect has the power to dictate how a system will be designed in the long run.

As a software architect, you will be optimising the software development process and dictating the design, coding, and technical standards of the project. This step is most important in the software development process as it is virtually impossible to recover from bad architecture.

Your technical skills will include data modelling, coding expertise and analytical ability.

Number 3: Cloud Engineer – 21.6 LPA

Cloud computing is yet another tech revolution which has given us access to virtually infinite storage space and versatility. Cloud architects help organisations with their cloud computing strategy and coordinate with different teams for cloud deployment.

Amazon Web Services, Google Strong, and Microsoft Azure are some of the cloud services which you will be using primarily. You will be monitoring and managing your organisation’s cloud strategy along with ensuring that the organisation’s data stays secure.

Number 4: IoT Solutions Architect – 19.0 LPA

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a major new innovation that allows machines to stay interconnected and operate collaboratively in an ecosystem. As an IoT solutions architect, you will require programming, hardware design, and architecture capability to create an efficient IoT ecosystem.

Most importantly, you will be exploring ideas to collate business strategy with IoT solutions and networks. This field is relatively new and will be full of lucrative opportunities in the future.

Number 5: Product Manager – 12.5 LPA

The product manager is one of the most renowned job roles in the tech industry. Your tasks will primarily include handling a project and leading the project to fulfil the client’s requirements.

You will be communicating with clients, technical staff, and business intelligence teams as your primary duties. Some of the most important skills for a product manager include product lifecycle management expertise and a good grasp of JIRA, PivotalTracker, and Asana tools.

In addition, you will also require outstanding communication and people management skills.

Number 6: Site Reliability Engineer – 12.3 LPA

A relatively lesser-known tech job, but site reliability engineer (SRE) is a very important function. As an SRE, you will be overseeing a software system’s performance, reliability, and availability.

Several organisations with notable online presence such as social media platforms, e-commerce websites, and cloud services have many job opportunities for SREs.

You will need to have an in-depth understanding of software development and operations along with great communication skills while dealing with technical and non-technical staff.

Number 7: Cybersecurity Specialist – 11.1 LPA

As the world adopts digital ecosystems for all business and daily needs, the danger of cyber crimes grows bigger.

Data breaches, ransomware attacks, malware attacks, and other cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities are growing. To this end, cybersecurity is quickly becoming an important tech field and is becoming a key domain for businesses.

As a cybersecurity specialist, your responsibilities will include monitoring, analysing, detecting, and responding to security instances. You will need to have proficiency in TCP/IP, OSI model, networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, and defence-in-depth.

Number 8: Data Scientist – 10 LPA

Data scientists are somewhat similar to big data engineers with slightly different roles and responsibilities. They analyse and interpret complex datasets to aid their organisations in making sound, profitable, and feasible business decisions.

They utilise data modelling and machine learning algorithms along with programming languages such as R, Python, and SAS and a few other analytical skills.

They identify concerning business trends and lucrative future opportunities in advance to enable their organisations to act in a timely manner.

Number 9: Big Data Engineer – 8.1 LPA

Data science is extremely important for every industry as it allows organisations to constantly learn from the available data and improve their efficiency and performance.

As a big data engineer, you will be managing the life cycle of large-scale deployments and using languages such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL to carry out data analysis.

You will need to hone your data visualisation, communication, and programming skills along with gaining expertise in data warehousing technologies. Using business intelligence (BI) tools will also be a key skill in this profession.

Number 10: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer – 7.4 LPA

Artificial Intelligence is the biggest game-changing tech domain. Verily, companies are ready to pay great salaries to design and develop AI-powered applications to optimise business operations and boost efficiency.

You will require mathematical and statistical skills to build models, process data, and monitor AI systems. Python, R, and Torch are some of the key languages used by AI engineers. You will be working on deep learning, machine learning, and neural networking technologies.

Conclusion

As aspiring tech industry professionals, we are sure that some of these professions might seem difficult. But if you act smartly and start early, nothing will be difficult.

A great starting point can be online courses such as a web developer course by Geekster which can acquaint you with fundamentals easily.

Moreover, with such a wide variety of jobs available, we are sure that you will discover your niche in no time and get one of the above highest-paying jobs in India. All the best!
