Jayakanthan was born on April 24, 1934 in Kadalore, Tamil Nadu, South India to a farming family. For Jayakanthan, he had no interest in schooling from an early age. So, he went to school until the fifth grade. Due to this, he and his father disagreed and he became very close to his mother and grandfather. Without a smooth conversation between him and his father at home, the two were at odds and puzzled.
For the sole reason that he did not go to school, his father gave him severe punishments. Unable to bear this at all since he was a boy, he ran away from home at the age of 12 and came to his uncle’s house in Viluppuram. There, his uncle introduced him to communist principles and the works of Subramania Bharathi.

Shortly afterwards, Jayakanthan’s mother took him to his cousin’s house in Chennai, where he was a member of the Communist Party of India. He spent his childhood in the office of the Communist Party of India and became acquainted with the leaders of the Communist Party of Tamil Nadu.
He regarded the party office as his home and the party members as his family members, and he became interested in literature to listen to their discussions. Thus, Jeevanandam, a member of the party, hired a Tamil teacher to educate him. He studied Tamil literature and grammar properly and worked in many places full-time and part-time.
In 1949, the Communist Party of India was banned and banned. To this end, he joined a shoe store in Thanjavur on a temporary basis. In his spare time, he developed the habit of writing.

Final Words
Jayakanthan began his literary career in the 1950s. Her works were published in various daily and monthly dailies such as Saraswati, Tamarai, Grama Uzhiyan, Ananda Vikatan. All his works were well received by the fans and he got fame and recognition for his works. Thus, he was hailed as one of the greatest Tamil writers.
