Manivannan married Sengamalam. They both have a daughter named Jyoti and a son named Raghuvannan. Notably, his son is also an actor. Manivannan joined the Renaissance Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) political party. He also campaigned for the party in the 2006 assembly elections.
