Manorama (Tamil Actress) Biography: Gopisanta was born on May 26, 1943, in Mannargudi, Tamil Nadu, India, the daughter of her father Kasi Clarkudaiyar, and mother Ramamirthammal. Due to poverty and many family problems, he and his mother migrated to Pallathur near Karaikudi in Ramanathapuram district. He started his schooling at an elementary school in the valley and became interested in singing from an early age.

One day in their hometown they staged a play called ‘Andaman Kadathali’. Assuming that the person who played the female role did not sing properly, Manorama was cast in it. Everyone who saw his song, vocal melody, and dance in the play praised him highly. Not only that, but Thiruvenkadam, the assistant director of Subramaniam, who worked on the play, and Thiagarajan, who played the harmonium, changed his name to ‘Manorama’.

While acting in Vairam Nataka Sabha, he got opportunities to act in some plays in Chennai. Then, Janagraman came looking for him and said that he was going to make a film called “Inpa Vazhvu” and had come to sign him to act in it. However, the film was halted halfway through and he was later contracted to star in the poet Kannadasan’s ‘Umayankottai’.
The film manages to entertain as well as inform. However, the poet Kannadasan first introduced Manorama to the cinema screen as a comedian in the 1958 film ‘Malayitta Mangai’.

Final Words
When Saba was acting in a theater troupe, S. who was in key charge in that drama troupe M. Ramanathan fell in love with Manorama. After that, Manorama accepted his love and the two got married at the Murugan temple in Thiruchendur. They have a son named Bhupathi.
