India captain Virat Kohli has equaled former captain Dhoni’s record in the fourth Test against England. The England cricket team is participating in a four-match Test series in India. India is 2-1 up at the end of the first three Tests. The fourth and final Test between the two teams starts today at the Narendra Modi Cricket Ground in Ahmedabad.
England captain Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first. Jobra Archer and Brad have been dropped from the England squad, while Don Lawrence and Tom Bess have been added to the squad. Mohammad Siraj replaced Jaspreet Burma in the Indian squad.
Virat equals MS Dhoni’s record of leading India in most Tests
In this situation, the captain of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli, who led the match, equaled the record of former captain Dhoni. This was the 60th match in which Kohli led the Indian team in the Test arena. The Kohli has equaled Dhoni’s record of leading the Indian team in more Tests.
The Kohli, who has previously led India in 59 matches, has recorded 35 wins, 14 draws, and 10 defeats. Dhoni has led India to 27 wins in 60 Tests. The goalie overtook Dhoni in the list of captains who have recorded the most wins in Test cricket in 2019.
On the other hand, this was the 50th Test match in which Joe Root captained the England cricket team. The much-anticipated Root was disappointed when Mohammad Siraj was out for just 5 runs.
