M Sreesanth: Murali Sreesanth is a 21-year-old athlete from Kerala. He also competed in the Federation Cup of the Senior National Athletic Championships. In this, he broke the previous national record of 8.20 meters by crossing the length of 8.26 meters. He set the record in 2018. He is currently in his fifth chance to cross the 8.26m mark and qualify for the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo.

Men’s 8.22 meters are required to qualify for the Olympics. In this situation, Sreesanth has qualified for the Olympics with a length of 8.26 meters. Sreesanth, who crossed 8.02 meters in the first opportunity of the Federation Cup series, jumped an extra 8.04 meters in his second chance. Sri Shankar, who recorded 8.07 and 8.09 in the next two innings, was unlucky to cross 8.26 meters in his fifth chance.
Another athlete from Kerala, Mohammad Anees won the silver and bronze medals in the 8m and Lokesh from Karnataka won the silver in the 7.60m. Five Indian sprinters, two javelin throwers, one javelin thrower, and a mixed 4x400m relay team have so far qualified for the Olympics.
