Thiruvalluvar has to say that there is no proper evidence for their birth and origin. Some say that he was born in 31 BC and was born in Madurai and Mylapore in Chennai. Also, some say that he was born to Adi-Bhagavan parents. But, so far none of these have been confirmed.

It is no exaggeration to say that Tirukkural, written by his knowledge and thought, has become a world-famous literature and has brought pride to Tamils. In Kanyakumari, the confluence of the Mukkadal in the southern tip of India, a huge statue of him has been erected by the Government of Tamil Nadu in his honor. The statue is 133 feet high and is located on a 30 feet high rock. The sculptor Ganesan, who designed it, said it took 10 years to build.
In his memory, a ‘Valluvar Kottam’ has been set up in Chennai. All 1330 verses of the Thirukkural composed by him are engraved in the voice hall here.
His statue is housed in the School of Oriental and African Studies, Russell Square, London.
An important part of present-day Chennai is the “Valluvar Kottam”. A mandapam has been set up for Thiruvalluvar in this Valluvar line. All the faults of the screw are embedded in that fault hall. To date, the Government of Tamil Nadu has maintained it well.

A temple has been set up for Thiruvalluvar in Mylapore which is considered to be his birthplace. You can still see it today. The temple is located near the Mylapore Mundaka Kanniyamman Temple.

Even after the disappearance of Thiruvalluvar, his noble book Thirukkural, which has been a guide to the people of the time, has elevated the fame of Tamils worldwide.
